Weep The Beloved People

Tangled identities-
Of a society dredged to its navel
By immorality,
That sucks values from human brains
Of once a moral people.

A mother gang raped as political reprisal
A brother homicides to inherit an estate
My sisters incested by uncles,
Indecisive cousins abort their sons.
This community now lost in lust
Lust for money, for power, for sex

A map has been drawn on a burning board,
This civilization is the map drawn-
That breeds in its people archaic norms.
A fire burns on society's private parts;
And nags the conscience of its citizens-

Lusting uncles, sisters , brothers, cousins
Are those who in the end commit suicide
As a libation of their own sins-
Weep you poets, weep righteous eyes
For now our people are sozzled of sin.
